Eating Vegan Food in Hawaii

Travelling as a Vegan is always somewhat daunting at times – mainly because you are completely out of your usual ‘comfort zone’ and have no idea where to go or what to do.

There are useful apps of course, like Facebook Groups and Happy Cow – but it’s always fun finding some hidden gems here, there and everywhere.

My favourite meal by far, which I had 3 times, was the Vegan Burger at Yardhouse – right next to our hotel conveniently, and had a range of Gardein products.  Suffice to say it was absolutely delicious!

Breakfast was also an absolutely amazing hidden gem – due to the large number of Japanese tourists the usual minute options of baked beans and toast gets mixed up with a Japanese breakfast of pickled vegetables, chili, fruit and rice – perfect!

Then the most hidden gem of them all – The Cheesecake Factory.  They have a VEGAN OPTION on their menu, which surprised me coming from a franchise that specialises in coagulated cow juice desserts.  But hey, I’ll take my wins where I can

But the best by far was our 4 course Vegestation at ‘Roy’s Waikiki’ – ooooooooooft!  Sadly I’m writing this in hindsight and have likely forgotten most of the dishes, but if you’re ever there I recommend going – book in advance, ask for one set menu, and order the other vegan dishes off the a la carte – and share – 10/10 recommend

So – vegan in Hawaii? No problem!
